trilogy

After being
well and truly dragged into this story world in the first book, Sweet Evil, I
couldn’t wait to get my hands on the second, Sweet Peril. And it didn’t
disappoint.
After
discovering a prophecy that could free the nephilim from demons, Anna works
side by side with her father and friend Kopano, son of the Duke of Wrath,
travelling the world to gather allies for the impending war between nephilim
and demons.
During
their travels, Anna finds herself drawn to Kopano, unsure of what to make of
things, as Kope clearly has feelings for her. Unfortunately, Anna still has
strong feelings for Kaiden, who is pushing her away more firmly than ever.
As Anna and
Kope gather more and more allies, the tensions continue to grow, the danger of
their task always on their minds. Constantly aware of being watched and
desperate to protect their friends and allies from danger, the book keeps you
on the edge of your seat, alert and nervous for the characters you love.
I didn’t
find this book to be quite as fast paced as the first, as it’s centered more
around planning than action. Despite this, there are plenty of exciting
moments, from the lust filled encounters between Anna and Kaiden, to the heart
pounding scene near the end of the book, where things take a turn for the
worse. The book definitely leaves you wanting more, and it’s clear that
something big is going to go down in the final book. You can’t help but want to
cheer Anna on, and I personally cannot wait to read the climax and see all the
powerful emotions come together for one big "in your face” to the demons.
